With St. Patrick's day on the way, I was looking for gifts for some Irish-American friends who retain close ties with their motherland. I thought I was going to have to either settle for something that they probably already have and that everyone knows where to get, or that I would have to order something from a site that charges for expensive customs and shipping fees for goods from Ireland.

I was amazed by the selection of everything from sweaters to Guinness memorabilia, and in fact as a loyal Guinness drinker I did not even select gifts for my friends until adding two tankards and a dart board to my shopping cart. I also decided I had to have a Claddagh Door Knocker, but then I stopped shopping for myself because I really did want to buy some gifts for my Irish friends.
So, I started with some perfume that I have never seen in the United States, as well as bath salts, and then it was back to the pewter for some more very useful and very Irish gifts. I also knew my friends would appreciate the Kara pottery, since it is simple and useful and is perfect for display as well as for use.
